Known Issues

  • MAPR-13525: Virtual memory checking is disabled in release 4.0.0 FCS by default as a workaround for an error where YARN containers are killed due to excessive virtual memory demands.

  • MAPR-13673: On CentOS/Red Hat nodes, Pig users must install the mapr-pig package after installing core MapR packages to avoid an error with the message ERROR 2998: Unhandled internal error. When Pig is installed concurrently with core MapR packages, Pig is unable to read the Hadoop configuration information to select the correct JAR file.

  • MAPR-13601: The Resource Manager service does not support listening on multiple IP addresses.

  • MAPR-13474: The intermediate map outputs stored on a node’s local volume are deleted when the Node Manager for that node restarts. This can result in restarting completed map tasks.

  • MAPR-13598: On jobs that complete very quickly, reducer progress is misreported as NaN (not a number) in the job report after a successful job completion.

  • YARN-1321: Multiple Application Masters cannot run successfully in a single JVM.

  • MAPREDUCE-5744: Some jobs hang due to an illegal comparison operation in the Resource Manager’s container allocation code.

  • MAPREDUCE-5723: When the mapreduce.task.userlog.limit.kb property in mapred-site.xml is set to a value other than zero, exceptions are not logged in the Application Manager’s logs.
